What are we up to now?
Two weeks ago Team RIC (Rooted in Christ) joined all three other Z-Squad teams in Craiova, România for a few weeks of all-squad ministry. The 25 of us (and our German friend Edi) live together in Hope Baptist Church’s mission house. We serve the church together through prayerful intercession, hosting youth nights, delivering gifts and food to Roma communities, discipling young people in the church, caroling to the public, and helping meet other needs as they arise. I’ve personally been assigned to editing videos on behalf of the church, which is fun and fulfilling. I’m also taking advantage of this time all together by seeking out people on the squad for one-on-one time, loving and shepherding them to the best of my ability.
What am I spending on?
For financial accountability to donors who contributed personal spending money, and so you can all delight with me in the adventures I’m enjoying in the field, here’s everything I’ve paid for with donated personal money since my last blog:
50 RON, or $11.08: a fancy cake for a friend whose dog died
119 RON, or $26.37: 2-week gym membership (with hot showers), paid for by Raegan (thanks friend!)
30 RON, or $6.65: National Village Museum entry
$118: round-trip train tickets for me and 5 friends to visit Bucharest for a day
Literally everything else (lodging, airfare, local transport, 3 meals a day, professional mentorship, etc.) is covered by the donations you all made before launch. Thank you so much!
Merry Christmas!
